Progress surgeries..

Having had a quick chat with Andy about what I was attempting to do with my briefs made me realise that I really needed to define my briefs so much more. Without a clear concept and deliverables I could just spend weeks researching and not get anywhere with anything. I know in my mind the direction I want to go with a few of the briefs so I'm going to define them now.. (on a piece of paper which I'll scan in)

Weekly ramblings. Take 2.

Its the 21st first today. I don't what I did yesterday let alone last week.

Right.

Heard back from fashion, they loved what me beth and claudia pitched so that was amazing, they also loved what kirsty, liv and frankie pitched. Which means they wanted to us to show more design development. Working on this at the moment and looking forward to seeing what they think. I would love to win the pitch as I think it's an amazing opportunity to work with fashion but then also produce some amazing work too. Fingers crossed.

Saturday was dissertation day. It's getting there. On 5800 words at the moment with another chapter and conclusion to go. Boom.

Went to the print festival on Friday & Sunday. I think it's safe to say I still don't like talking to people. Me and Beth had a quick look round on the opening night and it was amazing. It always makes me want to go home and draw, rather than sit behind my mac. The print talks were equally amazing on Sunday. Can't even put into words how good they were. The whole print festival experience is always exciting, and I wish there were more events like this, I hate seeing a great event and then wanting to cry because it's in London.

Still working on the branding for Lauren from Vintage luxe and loving it, it's such an exciting project and although it's branding it's nice to work with someone who is really dedicated to what they do and produces such cool stuff.

Apart from the snow I don't know what else happened. OH. yearbooks. Still to be decided. We would like fashion or interior design.. Something print based.

Vintage Luxe Collaboration

As I like to tweet a lot I got a mention from Vintage Luxe asking whether I would be interested in working together on some branding and web projects.. So I said yes.

She sent over some of the stuff that inspires her and design that she likes, so it was good to see the kind of direction she wants to take it in. I have a feeling it might give me the opportunity to work on some hand drawn stuff as well as some pattern making. Hmm.

So just before christmas Amber sent out a message about a potential placement opportunity with Lee Goater. I got in touch and didn't really here anything back until when Lee asked if I would like to get started on a quick project.

Year book pitch. lols.

BAGD Yearbook pitch with Lisa, Sarah P and Beth. We started brainstorming some different ideas and we all decided that a statement that has a decent concept is what we needed. Sarah came up with both you aint seen nothing yet and shit just got real. Personally shit just got real was my favourite but as a stronger concept we felt the other statement was better..

Instead of having just a yearbook we thought it would interesting to have a sleeve or envelope with a fold out poster and a smaller publication.. Beth mocked up the publication. It looks awesome.

I worked on the poster, although we have decided that all the photographs should be on a white background so that they can be laid out better but this just gives a quick example of how it could look.. yeah.

Where has my life gone?

I did not even begin to imagine that I would be at the point of starting my final major project. I would like to cry. Don't even know where the past 3 years have gone.

During this module I decided that I wanted to keep a weekly diary, just one day a week where I could evaluate how my individual briefs were going but also anything in general that is relevant to my design practice or PPD module. I think it would be a good idea to do this on Fridays, and although it's Thursday today I'm going to start this next Friday {11/01/13}
